I was recently introduced to MAKE Beauty, a cruelty-free makeup and skincare line made in New York City, and I think it’s cool that they encourage creative self-expression and personal experimentation. Because it really should be about being beautiful and confident on your own terms, rather than limiting yourself with “beauty rules”.
I also think it’s amazing that 10% of their sales are donated to the We See Beauty Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting women-led, worker-owned businesses in the United States.
I have one of their bestsellers to review for you today, and it’s their Satin Finish Powder Blush in Geisha. It is designed to “give your cheeks a translucent glow” and is described as “a long-wear formula that helps to hydrate and nourish skin all day”. It contains lecithin and lauroyl lysine to give the skin a soft and smooth appearance. It is paraben-free and infused with anti-aging antioxidants such as Vitamins C and E.
Geisha is a soft peachy-pink with a subtle sheen. It tends to be sheer but easily buildable, so it provides a subtle and natural flush of color, which can be layered for a dramatic effect.
I don’t find it to be particularly long-wearing as the color fades after only a couple of hours (and your mileage may vary), but I do like the texture because it applies evenly and blends smoothly. Plus, the satin finish adds just enough luminosity without any shimmery particles.
