MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadows Review & Swatches (Part 1)

In addition to the Extra Dimension Skinfinishes, MAC also released some Extra Dimension Eyeshadows. MAC describes these as “liquid-powder eyeshadows with prismatic reflections”. They launched ten limited-edition shades, and this review will feature Young Venus, Sweet Heat, Havana, Warm Thunder, and Dark Dare.

From L to R: Young Venus, Sweet Heat, Havana, Warm Thunder, and Dark Dare…

MAC Young Venus Extra Dimension Eyeshadow:

Young Venus is a pale whitened pink with a frosty finish.

MAC Sweet Heat Extra Dimension Eyeshadow:

Sweet Heat is a light-medium peachy champagne beige with a frosty sheen.

MAC Havana Extra Dimension Eyeshadow:

Havana is a medium-dark bronze brown with a slight sheen.

MAC Warm Thunder Extra Dimension Eyeshadow:

Warm Thunder is a medium blue gray with a silver metallic sheen.

MAC Dark Dare Extra Dimension Eyeshadow:

Dark Dare is a charcoal black with a bit of shimmer.

I love these eyeshadows! The texture is nice, soft, smooth, and creamy. They are well pigmented, easily blendable and buildable. They can be used wet or dry. (These were all swatched dry over bare skin.) With a primer, they look more vibrant, and they last about eight hours without any fading or creasing. My personal favorites are Sweet Heat and Havana.

Part 2 with Modern Pewter, Blue Orbit, Grand Galaxy, Lunar, and Rich Core can be viewed here.

What do you think of these eyeshadows? Have you tried this formula yet? Do you like the design and/or formula? What did you haul from this collection?

Where to buy: MAC counters, stores, and online.
